QTS IS REQUIRED!

We are seeking an enthusiastic Music Teacher to join an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ secondary school and sixth form in Barking & Dagenham, known for its excellent behaviour management and easy transport links. Key responsibilities for the Music Teacher:

• Lead engaging and creative music lessons across KS3 to KS5
• Work collaboratively within a small, dedicated 4-person music department
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
• Support the progress and attainment of all pupils in music
• Confidently teach and support students with SEND
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress
• Bring a proactive and flexible approach to lesson planning and delivery
• Contribute to school performances, concerts, and extra-curricular activities
• Help shape the future of the department as a Music Teacher

What we’re looking for in a Music Teacher:

• 1:1 Music degree from a top 20 UK university
• Role suitable for ECT's
• QTS with experience or confidence leading music lessons
• Strong classroom management skills, particularly with behaviour
• Creative and adaptable teaching approach
• A team player with excellent communication and organisational skills
• Desire to progress into middle or senior leadership roles
