Shape the next chapter of a growing trust.

As

Great Schools Trust

continues to enhance its estate, strengthen compliance, and prepare for future investment, we are seeking additional capacity within our Estates team to accelerate key operational priorities and improvement projects.

Join Great Schools Trust at a pivotal moment in our journey. From a single academy in 2012 to educating over 4,500 pupils across eight (soon nine) schools, we’re nationally recognised for excellence in character, leadership and social mobility. With a diverse and expanding estate, ambitious refurbishment plans, and a strong commitment to sustainability, we are seeking an Estates & Facilities Officer who can help drive high-quality environments and ensure our schools remain safe, efficient and inspiring places to learn. This interim role, with potential to extend, offers the chance to make a meaningful operational impact while developing your professional expertise within a mission-led organisation.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a values-driven estates professional to work alongside the Head of Estates, academy leaders and colleagues across Operations, helping to deliver excellence in compliance, asset management and estates strategy.

Early Applications Encouraged

We would welcome an early appointment and therefore strongly encourage early applications. We review applications on an individual basis and may close the recruitment process early should a suitable candidate be identified.

The Role

  • Support Trust-wide estates operations, ensuring safe, compliant and well-managed environments across multiple academies.
  • Lead and contribute to refurbishment, maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Oversee statutory compliance, inspection regimes and documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance to school leaders and operations teams.
  • Liaise with contractors and external agencies to ensure works meet standards, budgets and deadlines.
  • Support sustainability, environmental reporting and asset management improvements.

What We Offer

  • Strategic influence in shaping the future of our estate.
  • Freedom to contribute to modernisation, compliance systems and operational improvements.
  • Hybrid working with flexible arrangements.
  • 30 days annual leave + bank holidays, wellbeing support and additional benefits.

About You

You will bring strong estates, facilities or property management experience, with confidence across compliance, Health & Safety and project delivery. You combine technical understanding with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Experience in education or multi-site environments is desirable but not essential.
