The University’s Board of Governors and the Vice-Chancellor are now looking to appoint an exceptional individual as our next Deputy Vice-Chancellor. This is an exciting period for the University with the appointment of our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Anthony Woodman, leading our strategy to 2030. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor will have the opportunity for real impact across the institution, providing leadership of our academic offering, developing and delivering our inspiring strategy, and enhancing our reputation as a leading modern university in the UK.


As a key member of the executive team, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor will be responsible for executive oversight of the effective operation of the academic activities of the University, including line management of the Deans of Schools. The successful candidate will provide visible and inspiring leadership, working across the breadth of the University to help shape its future direction and be committed to furthering the University’s long-held progressive principles, such as widening access and promoting equality of opportunity.
