Job description


We are looking to appoint a Trainee Geotechnical Assistant to join our geotechnical team, based in our Glasgow office.


Role Overview:


You will work on exciting projects, learning to assist with geotechnical works on site using innovative technology and how to process data in the office. You will follow the company's structured training program and undertake on-the-job training lead by experienced engineers , giving you the unique opportunity to earn whilst you learn.

Responsibilities:


As a Trainee Geotechnical Assistant you will:


  • Work on site with experienced engineers conducting ground investigation surveys using innovative technology and processing data in the office
  • Undertake on-the-job training and earn whilst you learn
  • Undertake tasks within the office environment to assist with project completion e.g. Processing surveying data, instrument checks, organising and loading equipment, data input


  • Attend and contribute effectively to training and development days to assist your progression through the program- day release college in Civil Engineering is available

Requirements


The Person:


  • A keen interest in outdoor activities or previous experience working outside
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE's including Maths & English to Grade C level/ Grade 4
  • Candidate must be over 18 years of age due to the regular overtime worked over 40 hours per week and employment law regulations
  • Good practical and problem-solving skills
  • Logical thinker with an ability to deal with figures
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team
  • Able to demonstrate and understand the importance of health and safety at work
  • Willing to travel regularly with some overnight stays to complete projects
  • Full UK clean driving licence
  • Able to commute to our Glasgow office daily
  • Right to work in the UK

    This is a full-time role with office hours of Monday to Friday from 8.00 - 5.00 (4pm finish on Friday),
