An internship at Waddesdon will allow participation in some of the most exciting experience in a nationally and internationally renowned institution. This will in turn give interns a number of formal and informal learning opportunities that will assist the recipients with their future careers. We offer internships in marketing, conservation and learning engagement.

What does Waddesdon Manor do?
Waddesdon Manor is a historic house open to the public. Created by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild from 1874, it is home to the Rothschild Collection and was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1957. Today it is managed independently by a Rothschild charitable trust, The Rothschild Foundation, under the chairmanship of Lord Rothschild. It currently welcomes in the region of 450,000 visitors per year to the property.
Marketing Intern
The marketing internship will offer the right candidate a rare mix of elements – to gain experience with this popular visitor destination in an exceptional location with a fascinating mix of heritage, art, a programme of family events and even an aviary of endangered birds. The intern will collaborate closely with the marketing, press and web teams to maximise opportunities to promote Waddesdon's wide range of activities.
Conservation Assistant
This internship is placed within the Stewards Team, who are responsible for the day-to-day care and conservation of the collections, including handling, moving, cleaning and setting up of the Collection ready for opening and the public as well as preparing the House for Christmas and putting it to bed in the Winter. The team also supports special events in the House and additional activities such as filming.
Learning and Engagement
Working within the Education team you will help to look after formal school visits, delivering curriculum based programs to secondary and primary school aged students as well as planning and executing a varied programme of family events.

Collections & Conservation
- Interest in, or previous experience of management of a collection in a museum or historic house
- Demonstrate an understanding of the kinds of conservation issues which might affect historic houses and their collections
