Being an innocent Brand Ambassador

I’m not lying when I say I have the best kind of student job. A free bike, mini fridge, and an endless supply of innocent drinks aside, working with Campus Group as an innocent brand ambassador has come with invaluable marketing experience.

After hearing about the job in December last year, I knew I had to put in an application. A member of the Campus Group team talked me through the role and put me through to the next stages: a video application and then a Skype interview with the innocent team. When I received the good news, I was invited to an all-expense-paid training day at Fruit Towers!

I work roughly 7 hours a week, although these hours are flexible to account for weeks with additional events or sampling. Typical tasks throughout the week include scouting interesting opportunities to get innocent drinks into the hands of university students, speaking to local suppliers to understand market trends, and posting promotional content social media.

I am also responsible for finding shops and cafés on campus that fit with the innocent brand but don’t already stock innocent products, and connecting any interested store managers with our Regional Development Executive to talk through stock supply and suggested selling prices. I run sampling events, connect innocent with important people on campus, and hand out new products to peers and societies.

The Campus Group team have been fantastic to work with, and I have found everyone to be extremely helpful and approachable. Any questions or issues and my liaison at Campus Group is always just a text or phone call away, and she checks in with me regularly to ensure that everything is running smoothly. I find that both Campus Group and innocent have been understanding about my academic commitments, and have lessened my workload around deadlines and exams.

The professional experience has been incredible. Each ambassador is given a ‘mentor’ from innocent to give us career advice. Incentives include prizes for the ‘ambassador of the month’ – mine was a day of work experience at the innocent HQs in London! This job is one of the highlights of my university life, and I cannot thank Campus Group enough for making it possible.
