Job description

 Sport Project Coordinators needed for sports coaching project in Sri Lanka.

Sports include Netball, Volleyball, Cricket, Football and Rugby. Sport Coaching volunteers have also run physical exercise lessons at local schools.

Project Coordinator will also have the opportunity to Teach English (TEFL), work at children's homes and work with people with Special Needs.

All living expenses covered whilst in Sri Lanka. Must be able to commit to volunteering with the team for a minimum of 8 weeks.



SL Volunteers is a Volunteer Organisation in Sri Lanka, set up by a team of graduates. Our aims are to provide affordable volunteering opportunities for students and graduates whilst making a positive impact in the communities in which we serve.

All volunteers are required to undergo a series of in-country training sessions run by local NGO’s and charity workers, such as basic Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), working with children and people with special needs.

1st 4 weeks: Sports Project Coordinators are not required to take on any additional responsibility, to that of a standard volunteer.
 Assistant Coordinators undergo the same training: Basic TEFL, Cultural Sensitivity Working with Children and people with special needs.
Assistant Coordinator will be given the standard volunteer schedule:

Sports coaching for 2-3 hours a day, 3-4 days a week.
Morning: Youth Teaching or Special Needs Centre (alternate days) 
Afternoon: Running Activities at Children’s Homes. 



2nd 4+ weeks: Extra Responsibilities 
Assistant Coordinators will be required to assist the new volunteer arrivals at the Sports Projects., support volunteers and help them adjust to Sri Lanka, 
take records of how the sports projects are progressing.

Sports Project Coordinators that fulfill either of the 2 roles below will have their volunteers expenses covered. Volunteer expenses include: Training, Food & Accommodation. Pick up from the airport.

Role 1: UK Project Manager Assistant 
Locations: SL Volunteers Head Office. Worldview Space. 1 Pope St, London. SE1 5PR.

Role 2: Recruiting Volunteers.

It is still possible to be an assistant coordinator even if you are unable to commit to the above roles but the coordinator will be required to contribute towards their living costs.
