College president

College presidents are the highest-ranking officers within the academic administration of a college or university. Their responsibilities include; creating and executing the school's vision, launching fundraising campaigns, attending student events, and speaking to the government or private officials. 

These leaders have to come up with ways to improve student welfare, keep employees in check, and also maintain high academic standards. A college president needs a master's or doctorate such as a Ph.D. or EdD and years of experience in the education system. 

Director of a nonprofit

Executive directors oversee all the processes and functions within a nonprofit organization. This is a highly regarded position that involves working with the board of directors and delegating tasks to each member of the team. The director helps to further the organization's mission and vision. 

A nonprofit's executive director must possess good leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills. This career path is great for education degree holders who are passionate about making a change, improving systems, and bringing about social justice. 

Superintendent / school principal

Some roles in education administration include principals, vice-principals, and superintendents. They oversee the daily operations of a single school or several schools within a district. They oversee their district's budget, infrastructure, staffing, and other school operations. 

They collaborate with the school board to develop and implement new policies, enforce disciplinary rules and improve the learning environment. A master's degree or higher is required for these school administration positions. Candidates also need to have some teaching experience. 

HR director

HR directors are responsible for screening, hiring, and managing employees of all departments in an organization. They make sure that employees take their jobs seriously and the organization caters to the needs of employees as well. Human resources directors also need to have good empathetic skills

These professionals craft policies, coordinate training programs, enforce recruitment and ensure company compliance with legal policies. The role of an HR director is great for education degree holders. With their leadership skills, EdD graduates can help companies achieve success. 


A provost is usually the second-in-command in a college or university and must report directly to the president. They help to implement the institution's academic goals and priorities, allocate resources to support each initiative, as well as recruit and retain a diverse faculty. 

Provosts supervise and ensure that department heads, deans, faculty, and other staff are providing the highest quality of education. They also ensure the quality of the curricula in each department. Doctorate holders who have teaching experience at the college level should consider. 

Education policy analyst

Education policy analysts seek to improve the education system. They can work with school systems, nonprofits, and lobbying organizations. They identify, research, and recommend the best possible solutions on key issues affecting schools and the overall education system in the country. 

An education policy analyst may decide to focus on a particular area of education or conduct a general analysis concerning the education system. A master's or doctorate in public policy or education and previous experience as a journalist, teacher, or school administrator is required. 

Academic Dean

Admissions counselors help students choose the right career path or college based on their strengths and weaknesses. They may work for colleges or career centers. Admissions counselors provide information about schools and help students make the right decisions. 

If these counselors work for a particular school or college, they will be asked to promote and attract more prospective students. Graduates of education who have adequate knowledge about the schooling system but do not wish to teach should consider.

Corporate trainers work with HR managers to develop effective courses that would help boost the capabilities of their staff. These professionals have to be experts in their chosen field of specialization. They need to have graduate degrees as well as post-graduate certificates.
